Meet Rebbekah White

I am a 35 year old mom to 3 boys ages 15, 13 and 6 and have been married to my highschool sweetheart for 17 years this August. I have been dealing with depression now for almost 14 years. My oldest son was diagnosed with Asperger’s Syndrome two years ago and last fall my youngest son was diagnosed with Austism. My middle son was born with asthma and my husband is a Type 1 Diabetic…why am I sharing all of this? Because I have so many different aspects of my life, I am able to share my own experiences and help others who may be dealing with the same thing in their own lives.

I first got started working from home when my first son was born in 1993. I sold Avon to my friends and family and did odd jobs through out the years as well. At one point I had my own cleaning service and I took Alex with me to clean others houses. My husband Brent was in the army at that time so most of the time it was just Alex and me while Brent was gone. We have lived in Texas, North Carolina and my favorite Olympia WA.

Brent was medically discharged from the army in 1997 and since then he has gone back to school and we have had 2 others sons Kyle and Adam. While Brent was going back to school to get his mechanics license for private jets I went back to work out of the house. I hated it! I was never home, when I was home I was sleeping. So when Brent graduated from college and landed a good job at our local airport I went from working 2 full time jobs to one part time job in the hope of being home more often.

In 2002 I became pregnant with our third son and decided I was not going to go back to work out of the house again, I still sold products etc from direct sales companies throughout all these years but didn't feel like it was something for me. But not knowing what I wanted to do from home since I have tried it all home day care, direct sales, tons of garage sales etc I felt a little loss. I started looking for information to teach myself how to market on line and to teach myself how to do webdesign so I could build my own sites.

Fast Forward to 2006...

Because of my own personal journey I felt a strong urge to start an internet talk radio show to offer guidance and help for those who are looking for ways to heal their mind, body and soul no matter what the source of pain is. I have lived with depression my whole life plus over the years have suffered off and on from Lupus. After years of learning to deal with depression, feeling all alone and looking for resources and others to talk to I felt a calling to start a website to help others. Two years after starting that website I wanted to reach out to more people not just women and I was given the idea to do a podcast and sold that first site…so on August 10, 2006 Heal Yourself Talk Radio was born and has been going strong ever since.

Heal Yourself Talk Radio is an interactive internet radio show and starting on October 10, 2008 will be heard LIVE on WBNW 1120 AM Boston Radio, 1390 AM Plymouth MA Radio and DreamVisions 7 Radio. HYTR has live shows every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday on Blog Talk Radio from 2 pm EST to 3 pm EST were you can listen live to the show and call in with your questions and comments on the shows. The recording is then placed on our LIVE 365 Station page.
