What made you pick the business that you are doing?

I was looking for a business that I loved to do and that allowed me to not only stay home with my children, but have the flexibility to do things with my children and work on my schedule.  I was also looking for a business that I controlled.  This means that I could decide how much I wanted to work and when I work, I wanted to keep a 100% of the money and not have to give money to someone else.  Our business allows me this.  The coaching program I set up because in my before Mom days, I was a teacher.  I love to teach and help
people.  Also, when I started my business, I couldn't afford to pay a coach, so I wanted a program that would help people in that financial situation. So, I developed a program that literally everyone can afford, no matter what their financial situation is.

How long have you been in business?

3 years this October

What are your favorite hobbies?

Shopping (with and for my kids), eating out, reading, horse back riding

What type of books do you like to read?

Romance- Danielle Steele is my favorite author (I want something that is light and really doesn't make me think, as that is all I do all day long).

Do you have a favorite type of music?

Soft rock and some R &B-  I tend to listen to the soft rock of the 90's as that is what I grew up with.

Do you find it hard to balance working from home and having to run a
household?

Some days.  I have learned how to schedule my time for my family and my business, other wise, it is addictive to always work.  My biggest issue is housecleaning, as my priorities go-family, business, then house, so it
sometimes gets shoved aside.  I have made a great deal with a  cleaning service, and they come in once or twice a month at a very affordable rate and in exchange I give them administrative and tech support as needed.

Do you take time for yourself everyday?

No.  I guess when my girls go to school, then maybe that will free up a few hours.  Right now my life centers around my family and my business.

Do you have a favorite network you like to network on?

Work-the-Web and Virtual Assistants.  I also like Christians In Business.

What is the most challenging thing working from home that you have had to
face?

Balancing my family time and work time

How did you overcome that challenge?

I set a very structured schedule blocking out time for both.  I work very hard to stick to this schedule.

What is the BEST thing about working from home?

I get to be with my kids, experience everything with them, and still have an outlet that allows me to fulfill myself.

What is the WORST thing about working from home?

When you work out of home, when you leave the office, you don't normally go back later to finish work.  When it is conveniently at your house, I find that sometimes I will work when I really should be relaxing.  I don't have
time for myself to relax because I focus my energy on my business and children.

What advice would you give to someone who is thinking about working from
home?

Research whatever industry you want to join.  Then, make sure it is something you love to do and can commit to.  Ensure that your family supports you because it does take time and they need to respect that time.
Don't pay to work for someone else!!!!

Do you or have you ever taken online classes?  Where?

What was the one thing you took away from that class?

Hewlitt Packards free online classes.
So far I have learned to use Publisher which has helped me to design not only my own marketing material, but to add that to my business.  I plan to take more.

Any specials that you would like others to know about?

For JERPAT Virtual Assistants all new clients get 2 free hours with their first 2 paid hours.  Mention this site and receive an additional $5 off your first 5 paid hours or $25 off your web design (reference code TY:001).
JERPAT VA Coaching students only pay a $50 commitment fee, and instead of paying for coaching sessions, they exchange work.  This gives them experience, a testimonial, and allows them to afford a quality coaching
program.

Finally tell us a little bit about where you live, what you like to do on
your downtime with your family and how using your products or services could
help us.

I live in Aurora, Colorado which is a suburb of Denver.  I am originally from Iowa, so though I love the city life, I still need to have time in the country and what better way to do this than hiking through the beautiful
Rocky Mountains?????  I also love to shop.  Sundays are my favorite days because I very rarely do any work.  I make a big breakfast and then we go to Church.  After church, we spend the afternoon and evening together hanging out.

By using our services, we can help take off those tasks that bog you down and keep you from actually working on your business and doing what you love. Our services are also an added benefit because you don't have to provide office space, equipment, or any type of benefits, as you would a full time employee.  Lastly, we only work AS NEEDED, so you do not have to scrounge up work just to have something for us to do.  Feel free to contact me for a no obligation consultation on how we can help your business.

Our coaching services can help any mom who is tired of scams or the pyramid businesses.  We can help you decide if the virtual assistance business is for you and then help you get going if it is for you.  Feel free to contact me (again at no obligation), and we can talk to see if this business is something that is for you or maybe we can brainstorm a business that is for you.
