What made you pick the business that you are doing?
My Website: I had the home-based business blues. Having tried multiple other businesses through other companies rather than my own, it seemed everyone "else" always made the money, and realized I needed more control anyway. So I decided to start my own website.
My Graphic Design Studio: My 25 year career path has been in the graphic design field. Having worked for a variety of other companies has given me the skill and knowledge to run my own studio now. It is in my home so I am still able to do work around my son's schedule and my other business.
I have chosen these two businesses to be able to make money to help my family survive while staying home for my son and be the one to take care of him and teach him life's essentials and values.
How long have you been in business?
Two years.
What are your favorite hobbies?
I love my family, the earth, animals, gardening, arts & crafts and being creative in everything I do!
What type of books do you like to read?
Suspense and informational.

Yellow
Do you have a favorite type of music?
No. I only have two that I don't like.
Do you find it hard to balance working from home and having to run a household?
Yes.
Do you take time for yourself everyday?
In a very small way right now.
What do you do?
I enjoy the peace and quiet of my household every evening when the rest of the family is fast asleep.

What is the most challenging thing working from home that you have had to face?
Staying up all hours of the night working when I am really, really tired and everyone else in the family has gone to bed. And I still have to get up early with everyone else.
How did you overcome that challenge?
I haven't yet. I am hoping to make enough revenue from my business that I can hire someone to help me with some of my household daily chores.
What is the BEST thing about working from home?
Being able to always be around for my 5 year old son, when he needs a snack, needs a nap, is sick, or just wants to read a book.
What is the WORST thing about working from home?
Not getting enough long, solid concentrated hours on my businesses.
What advice would you give to someone who is thinking about working from home?
Go for it, but be strong. Strong to work and not goof when you have work to do. Strong to tell your neighbors and friends during the day that you have "work" to do and could they come by/call later? Strong to stay up at night or get up early, early, early to get some of your work done.
Do you or have you ever taken online classes? Where? What was the one thing you took away from that class?
No I have not taken online classes. But I would like to when I get a bit more time.
Finally tell us a little bit about where you live, what you like to do on your downtime with your family and how using your products or services could help us.
I live in the high plains of Colorado. It's a little bit north and east in the state. We have mild winters and usually long summers. It can be very hot and very dry in the summer here.
I enjoy gardening and reading, and playing games with my son and my dog.
My Website: My website benefits women because it is a resource and information website especially for women helping them save their time and save their money in everything they do every day. There are articles, resources, tools and links to help women with cooking, finances, organization, health, relaxation, business, family, shopping, gardening, home, entertainment and more.
The goal of my site is to help all women in every aspect of their lives that I possibly can. I add new content and links at least every other week to keep the site an ever expanding and useful tool.
For example, I have an entire page set up as a Home/Start Page for women (A Woman's Life Tools) that they can reference on a daily basis to get help with all of their daily needs including a calendar, link to the weather channel to get local forcasts or forcasts of travel destinations, health, travel, finance, family and many other links that pertain to a woman's daily life.
I also have a free recipe page where women can get quick to prepare recipes already laid out on a recipe cards and ready to print. My site also has a handy travel page, "Your Travel Central", set up with discounted travel services and travel tools such as a currency converter and a handy tool where they can submit their travel plans and get information right away.
Plus my site has loads of articles and monthly columns with information that is helpful to women in many facets of their lives. Also available via my site are multiple low-cost and free advertising options for businesses, products and services throughout my site such as free advertising for submitting recipes and articles.
