What made you pick the business that you are doing?

I always loved making cards for people...when I actually started getting orders for custom cards from my mom's coworkers & friends, she encouraged me to turn my hobby into a business. So, here I am!

How long have you been in business?

I sold my first cards around Valentine's Day 2003, but did not start selling online until September of that year. 

What is the most challenging thing working from home that you have had to face?

The toughest thing is balancing my time between my son & work - I am not the most organized gal in the world!

How did you overcome that challenge?

I am still working on it! When my son is in school, I try to get most of my work done then...or when my parents come home & can keep an eye on my son for me.

What are your favorite hobbies?

I LOVE to draw! It never really seems like I'm working because I enjoy creating my cards so much! I also *love* to bellydance.

Specials for the Holiday season?

I am introducing my new Family Portrait Notecards - cards featuring a cute & whimsical "portrait" of your family. Cards can be made for everyday use or to send a Holiday greeting that will be treasured year-round!

Finally tell us a little bit about where you live, what you like to do on your downtime with your family and how using your products or services could help us.

I am a single mom...though just recently, I started *dating* my son's father again. Things are going great
so far & we are all enjoying being a "family" for the first time.

My son & I live with my parents in my hometown - Copperas Cove - in the same house where I grew up. My son will go to the same elementary school I attended, he plays in the same park...his best friend is the son of my best friend of 18 years!

My parents are wonderful! They have been extremely supportive over the years, and I must admit, without my mother's encouragement, One of a Kind by Lexi would not exist! THANKS Mom & Dad!

One of a Kind by Lexi offers cute & totally unique cards & graphics! All artwork is my own - drawn & painted by hand, with close attention paid to every detail. I am always more than willing to work with you to create a special custom design - whether it be for a birthday card, business logo or your family's "portrait"!
